Great Entertainment for All
I started watching this to see Jill Esmond, the woman who lost her husband Laurence Olivier to Vivien Leigh, but stayed because of the charm of the little girl who stars in the film. I agree with all of the 4 reviews above. This is a wonderful family film though I too at 52 loved it. My only caveat is that there is a scene where the little girl is taught a very hard lesson about duty during war time. I wasn't sure how I felt about it but it was difficult to watch. I'm sure 1944 audiences reacted differently. I can't believe how my day was brightened by this and totally by accident.
My Pal, "Wolf"
- Belinda Sanders
One of the best and sweetest movies I've ever seen. I'm sixty-two. Great cast of actresses/actors. Little Sharyn Moffett is unforgetttable.
great for lovers of dog stories
This is a charming film for dog lovers of all ages.Sharyn Moffett is wonderful as "gretchen",a little girl who rescues a german shepherd(awol from the army)from a boarded up well and quickly become friends with it.The dog she names "wolf" endears himself to the whole family as he demonstrates his loyalty to and desire to protect gretchen from anyone who might harm her.

My Pal, Wolf
This is the dearest war-time movie I have ever seen! Little Sharyn Moffett's character is so much like me as a little girl - you've got to see it. What a great movie to share with your kids! I just L-O-V-E-D it and wish I could buy it!
