NOTES

powered by AFI

The opening credits read "The Dead End Kids and the Little Tough Guys in Mug Town." In the film's end credits, Grace MacDonald's character name is mistakenly spelled "Norene Seward." A Hollywood Reporter news item states that this was MacDonald's first dramatic film role, having previously appeared only in musicals. Mug Town was the released feature film of actor Bernard Punsly (1923-2004), who entered the U.S. Army in 1943. Following World War II, Punsly went to medical school and became a prominent physician in Southern California. For additional information on these series, consult the Series Index and see the entries for Crime School and Little Tough Guy in the AFI Catalog of Feature Films, 1931-40; F3.0873 and F3.2534.
