authentic and respectful

In keeping with beliefs, practices, and customs, the Prophet is never shown, which makes his words and power even more effective. Top-notch actors tell a story not as well-known in some places as it should be, especially considering the huge amt of misinformation that is constantly being propagated. I am not clever enough to spot any faults it may have and found it to be beautifully filmed. I watched as an open-minded "outsider" and was inspired as well as glad that I had the opportunity to see it. Thank you, TCM.

Mohammad-The Messenger of God.

This movie illustrates, with great authenticity what has been repeatedly written about an illiterate man,his message-the Quran-and his valiant struggles to be heard; this message delivered through the Angel Gabriel! The quotations reflect with sincerity and sensitivity the message ,"La Illa-ha, Illal-la, " There is no God besides God", and the unyielding belief of his gradually incraesing followers. The faith of the King of Abyssinia, the Prophet's expulsion to Medina, and his eventual return to Mecca and to the Kaba are some touching landmarks.Today, the Kaba, first given to Abraham, is now cleansed of statues and is visited by millions of Muslims fromevery corner of the globe, as their Hajj or Pilgrimage, once every year. The wars and the violence might have been less graphic. The movie should be seen atleast twice.Great Performances by Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas.
