another Clifton Webb gem

Another forgotten Clifton Webb movie. He and his wife are childless, and he plays his usual gruff, tactless part. That cute little boy with the voice - think my mom said they called him 'Froggy' - is in it. It is sweet and touching and such a great family movie. Another perfect movie for TCM to give a new audience to. Wish it were available on DVD too.

Mister Scoutmaster - A FAMILY FAVORITE

Dad Bergstrom was a professional scout executive in Southern California in the 1950s. An expert in Scouting procedure, uniform details, etc. was needed for the film & George Bergstrom was hired. Grandpa really enjoyed being involved with this film.

Easily one of my favorite films, I saw Mr. Scoutmaster on its release in 1953. Casting is nearly perfect, everyone fitting their role to a T. Clifton Webb expands on his Mr. Belvedere character and makes the movie an enjoyable experience. Can't wait for this film to make it to dvd.
