  • I own "The Lively Set" it is my favorite movie

This movie is a good movie for both James Darrin and Pamela Tiffin. The realistic making of the famous Chrysler Turbine car.The story of a teenager coming up with this car is amazing.Even the first red jet car,is used, with realism.Even showing Hot Rod magazine,as way making the movie more real.It has the beautiful love story,of the characters played by James Darrin, the one wants to design a turbine car. Then his high school sweetheart played by Pamela Tiffin, who has faith in him to succeed with this dream..She even goes to the point of marry him, even though you do not see the wedding, since these were chaste times, while he works of this famous turbine car races and wins. This a true winner. The story takes place in the beginning in a San Francisco high school.James Darrin's high school hot hot rod is a cool red twin carbs,1932 roadster, with a cool roll bar,and moon gas tank. The upholstery is black, with his girl Pamela Tiffin, trying to get his attention,by pouring her coffie into the gas tank. The car has thin white wall tires, with Astro Surpremes slotted mags. The tall 1923 T' bucket also had slotted Astro Surpremes, with pie crusts slicks in the back.I am a happy owner of the "Lively Set" movie books,if has extra information, and pictures, that came out from the movie.I will not part with it.Many people gives this movie a bum wrap, looking, for violence, and sex. This movie has history. These were simple times, when a boy and a girl, had marriage in mind, even they did not show it.Sleeping together was not allowed, unless married. This a story how a woman, would trust her man,and work with through thick and him.

Honored to write a review on a great movie seen as a youngster growing up in the sixties. James Darren was such a hunk, and Pamela was a stunner and they were so right together! It was a time when considered by today standards so simplistic, defintely a cute, funny and entertaining film. Please show it again!

Such a fun movie. I remember watching this movie with my mom when I was a teenager. James Darren is such a hunk and his chemistry with Pamela Tiffin was great. Any movie with James Darren can't be bad.

  • One of the all-time great classics

The best now, old school hot rod movie. The coming out of the Chrysler turbine car to the auto nuts. We would'nt have the emissions problems today. We would all be breathing easier. This is a great movie for this 62yr. old to go down memory lane.........THANKS.

  • Missed the first part of this I think.

But when I saw that it featured both James Darren and Doug McClure I watched the rest of it. It was amusing and a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The sooner you can show it the better.
