The working titles of this film were Seed of Violence and Seeds of Terror. Producers Harry Rybnick, Richard Kay and Edward B. Barison released their first film, Girls on the Loose, in March 1958 under the banner of Jewell Enterprises. By the time Live Fast, Die Young was released two months later, their firm had been renamed BRK, Inc. The company borrowed Troy Donahue from Universal for this picture. On December 12, 1957, Hollywood Reporter reported that Russell Johnson had been cast in Live Fast, Die Young; however, he does not appear in the final film. Dorothy Provine and Jamie O'Hara made their feature film debuts in this picture.
