An incredibly mature suspense/thriller.
This is, personally, one of my favorite films from the 1970's. It is an incredibly creepy little thriller, with horror film overtones, that handles some very mature material in a subdued and disturbing way. The performances by Jodie Foster and Martin Sheen are absolutely flawless as they weave you into a web that can only be hinted at here.( I don't want to spoil any of the surprises, so we'll just leave it at that). The direction is remarkably low-key which allows the suspense to build naturally leading to an atmosphere of dread in which you literally do not know what the outcome is going to be. Overall this is one of the most underrated films of the 70's and is a real find for those looking for something unusual and intelligent.
I saw this movie a few years ago and thought what a great movie with all of its twists and turns as to what was going on. I would recomend this movie to anyone that likes mystry adventure type movies. I think it is great and hope it gets put on VHS or DVD so more people can watch it, when it does come out I will buy it for my movie collection.
MY FIRST CRUSH
I went to see this movie when it first came out and really enjoyed it as i was roughly the same age as J. Foster and remembered seeing her in other in other TV bit parts which made me feel i knew her sorta and i really have this thing for her even now in my forties i still would luv to be with her to protect her like Mario did in the movie, sadly i'll probably never get to meet her.
ihad never heard of this before, and jodie foster and i are same age. i can't believe i missed it. i loved it. i didn't get to see first half hour please show again soon
Stuck in my head
I loved this movie. I would try and watch it everytime it came on. Can't wait to see it again.
This is why I love Jodie Foster

The first time I saw this movie I was thirteen and it absolutely engulfed me. To this day I watch this movie whenever it's on or have rented it several times. I even have the book by Laird Koenig. Jodie Foster's acting and characters have a strong impact and this is one of her best. This movie is haunting and real.
"A don't miss-er"
- Bill Young
This is a definite must film for Jodie Foster devotees; however, even more than that, this is early Jodie Foster and is a great indicator of why she fared so well in later years. This film holds your attention to the very end by its story theme/line, plus all supporting actors turn in stellar performances making this a film very much worth watching. I had never heard of this one before, and lost some sleep staying up to watch it, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Now I only hope I can turn out the lights and go to bed without fear of someone coming up out of the floor to disturb me.
