Super Star casting
One would hope that with the number of real stars in this film that it would have been much better than it is. Please don't get me wrong. It's a sweet story and it's watchable. This is early Pidgeon, Astor and Garland - 1938. After this, Astor turned to roles that characterized her as a heartless witch. Garland went on to fame becoming a huge star on her own. Pidgeon went on to play the husband and foil for many actresses in hit films, e.g. "Mrs. Miniver" four years after this film.
ALL HAIL 'BUZZ' MITCHELL!
- Raymond Banacki
There was no child actor like Freddie Bartholomew - he was such a gift to the moves. Frankly, I just can't get enough of him - MGM should have never let him go!
Ele excelente
Listen, Darling (1938)
- James Higgins
This is a wonderful, warm and very simple film. Very pleasant performances and Jusy Garland sings "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart". What more could you ask for?
loved Scotty Becketts humor in this movie.
I would love to see this movie made available on DVD. Scotty Beckett definately stole the show with this movie (he was hilarious). I think even a kid could enjoy the movie (even its outdated songs). If it was made available I would buy it in a heartbeat and recommend it to my friends and relatives who were interested.
Listen Darling: Let's get it on DVD!!
This is a terrific movie with humour, song and a warmth that makes it a real benchmark of the times. Well worth adding to your DVD collection.
