The Lavender Hill Mob
- Dashiell Barnes

An entertaining comedy delight from England. Guinness earned an Oscar nomination as a meek man who, along with a great Halloway, rob gold from Guinness' own Bank, blink & you'll miss an early Audrey Hepburn. Oscar-winning story is slow in the beginning, but picks up laughs as an assortment of events happen as the film progresses. Purely fun entertainment. I give it a 4.5/5.

A terrific suspense filled film defines this charming caper-crime. Great imagery of England-London in the day with Sir Alec Guinness playing an individual that has lost his ethical way when the seed of corruption finds its way into his principled demeanor. You'll quickly find yourself rooting for the bad guys in this one, most notably when faced with the police. Both timeless and tireless. Spot On Indeed.

I forgot that Audrey was in this film, in a small part. I noticed her name in the end credits. Now I will have to go back and rewatch it for her part. But this movie is no chore to watch again, as it's truly enjoyable.
