The Great Rossellini
- Gerry Greenberg
What other movie channel cares enough about the place Roberto Rossellini deservedly occupies in film history to screen this film in prime time?. It is also a testament to the talent and magnetism of the great Anna Magnani. This work marked a transition from Rosselini's neo-realist classics Rome, Open City, Paisan, and Germany, Year Zero (previously featured on TCM) to his collaborative efforts with Ingrid Bergman.
Have just come in on this movie. Very interesting story. From what I've seen so far, it puts me in mind of "Agnes of God" with Meg Tilly. The scenery and photography are breathtaking. I'm tired just watching the character Nanni march up and down the step hills.
This is terrible. I would give it zero stars if I could.
This is garbage.o you put stuff like this on especially in prime time????
