I only watched this two-thirds of the way through; found it stilted and banal. Suzy Parker was kind of flat and I liked her alot in "The Best of Everything". Cartoonish characters were trotted out, the old standards: Richard Deacon, Kathleen Freeman, John Doucette and the breathy Jayne Mansfield. Seemed like a Don Knotts movie with all that 'sameness' in the background. One startling thing: Cary Grant's nut-brown tan! Good grief! Those were his Coty cosmetics days, and maybe he was just looking the part of an airman stationed in Hawaii. Maybe. Anyhoo, two stars for this tanker.
Deborah Kerry -- Suzy Parker
Parker was inexperienced and there was a complicated sequence toward the picture's end. Kerr did some of that for Parker. AS for IMDB -- it is not a source to be taken literally . Many errors, opinions masquerading as information, which does not mean it cannot be a useful resource, simply not definitive.
Why did Deborah Kerr dub Suzy Parker's voice??
In the imdb, Deborah Kerr is listed in the 'full cast' section as: 'Deborah Kerr -------Gwinneth Livingston (voice) (uncredited)'. Anybody know why this was done?? Parker appears very one-dimensional, but the dubbed-over voice doesn't add anything to the performance either.

Such a nice piece deserves to be on annually. Grant and Walston make everyone else help take shoreleave the way it was intended.

A GREAT GREAT MOVIE WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS MADE MOVIES MAGIC..
Kiss Them for Me
Found this to be a very entertaining movie with a lot of laughs. A break from the drama of World War II movies. Cary Grant played more of a straight character while Ray Walston provided the cut up humor. Jayne Mansfield provided the fantastic scenery.
