  • Stylish mystery caper, definitely worth watching

    Having never heard of Philo Vance, but being a Thin Man fan, I recorded this film on a whim - I'm glad I did. This mystery moves at a brisk pace, with lot's of swish pans and split screens to keep things visually interesting.William Powell is great as Vance, surrounded by an excellent supporting cast. Included is an Asian character, played by an actual Asian actor, who does not have to speak pidgin english! Suspects accumulate along with bodies, and I was kept guessing as to who would be the murderer. Recommended to all mystery fans - and I'll be on the lookout for more Philo Vance!
