I just can't miss anything with Loy in it.
You cannot imagine how an always-well-balanced Myrna Loy winded up with such a silly plot and uncanny lunatic glowness. But I just buy it. I buy everything with Myrna in and just can never get enough of her subtle tone. Before this film, I was already hooked up with the impression that there was something going on behind that pretty face of Taylor. Now after seeing this, I really loved whatever could be brought out when Loy and Taylor were paired together. It's just more reasonable to look at, even with a most unreasonable script. Anyway, this could be seen as a poor man's screwball comedy to Bring up, baby.
"Incoherent, interminable mess..." says Leonard. I agree. I watched this thing this morning and could not believe such big stars would make such a stupid film. Taylor seemed almost manic in his performance. And the ending was ridiculous too.
Silly But Loveable
I desperately want this on dvd! Though the plot is a little silly, there is just something about this movie that warmed my heart! Definitely worth the watch.
This movie was a lot of fun to watch, and was thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Myrna Loy and Robert Taylor do a wonderful job in this film.
