On a trip to the Bahamas, Jan and her aunt Elizabeth meet handsome charter boat proprietor, Mike, to whom both women are attracted. Bitter when Mike returns Jan's interest, Elizabeth attempts to frame Mike's first mate Eban, by planting her valuable bracelet in his bag. When the bracelet is discovered, Elizabeth promises Mike she will not press charges if he breaks off his romance with Jan. Eban is freed from jail only to run into trouble with his some-time girl friend, tempestuous native singer, Iron Woman, who has discovered that Eban is also courting the gentle Mary Ann. When one of the island women who witnessed Elizabeth's blackmail attempt confides in Jan, she challenges Mike, who admits that he still loves her. Seeing Mike's happiness, Eban decides to remain with Mary Ann, and stop seeing Iron Woman.
