Um filme que tem muita aventura e romance e espero que o TCM providencie o filme o mais breve possivel para ter em seu acervo. Um verdadeiro clssico pouco conhecido de Cary Grant, porm o filme um dos melhores. Excelente.
The howards of virginia
viewed this movies. as a teacher thought that it was a movie i would show in the classroom. have been looking for it on DVD. hope you reconsider and make it available.
LOVED this movie
I was suprised to see this movie with Cary Grant in it. I hadn't heard of it before and when I called my mom who is even a bigger fan of the oldies than I am she didn't even know it existed. I couldn't look away for a moment while watching it, enduring, exciting, funny and overall wonderfully entertaining. Very disappointed that it is not available for purchase though so I do hope tcm will show it again SOON!!!
Just saw this movie yesterday!
I am a huge classic movie fan,and also a HUGE Cary Grant fan, but had never seen this movie until yesterday. I really enjoyed it and was impressed with the passion that it made me feel for the historical significance of this country.I was very impressed with the acting and the historical correctness. It was a great film!
Cary Grant slept in actual Williamsburg cottage.
When my husband and I honeymooned in Williamsburg, VA, in 2000, we stayed in one of the cottages in the historic town. A plaque in the cottage stated that Cary Grant had resided in that very cottage while filming this movie on location in Williamsburg. As an adoring fan, I love to tell people I slept in the same cottage as Cary Grant, although it was 60 years later! Glad to finally see the actual movie.
Very Good Staging
It appears that competent historical consultants were involved in creating sets for this movie. Costumes, furniture, structures etc. were very true to the 18th century setting. I saw this movie on TV many years ago and being an enthusiast of events that occured in the time of the Revolution, I enjoyed it then and again when it was shown recently on TCM. I plan to own the DVD
Available on DVD
Not Cary Grant's best, but the only time you'll ever see him in period costume! Pretty good movie - and available on DVD through Amazon.
