Frank Sinatra, Edward G. Robinson, Eleanor Parker, Carolyn Jones, Thelma Ritter, Keenan Wynn and Eddie Hodges go on location in Miami Beach, Florida to star in Frank Capra's warm, human comedy based on the play by Arnold Schulman (who wrote the adapted screenplay). Ol' Blue Eyes is a wannabe big shot, who asks his wealthy brother (Robinson) for a loan to help him out of a financial rut. However, there is one condition: either he agrees to settle down and get married or turn custody of his son (Hodges) over to his brother and his wife (Ritter). James Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn won an Oscar for the song, "High Hopes." A brilliant cast. The magnificent scenery of Miami Beach especially the airbourne photography. Anybody, who doesn't like this movie has a hole in their heads. With Dub Taylor, Joi Lansing, Connie Sawyer, James Komack, George DeWitt, Benny Rubin, Ruby Dandridge & Sam McDaniel.

Better than average Frank Sinatra film, Frank Capra's direction is a big plus. Anything with Edward G. Robinson is worth watching. Great score, top notch production.

  • one of Sinatra's best.
