NOTES

powered by AFI

The working titles for the film was The Plastic Man, and MPAA sources also list an alternate title as The Alien, the title of the novel on which the film was based. The following written acknowledgment appears in the closing credit: "The producers would like to thank the governors, trustees and students of Simon Fraser University for their kind cooperation and assistance during filming of this motion picture." According to an August 1971 Daily Variety news item, Christine Belford replaced Carol White in the role of "Nicole Devon" due to White's prior commitments. Filmfacts noted that production was temporarily halted due to the death of co-star Michael Sarrazin's father. The Groundstar Conspiracy was shot on location in Vancouver, B. C. Canada, with interiors at Panorama Studios, Vancouver.
