Sassy Society Sleuth & Co.
- Will Fox
Treat yourself. See the early Falcon Films first: "The Gay Falcon," 1941 series debut is one of the best, 3.5 stars, setting sassy style and engaging pace. A-List star, George Saunders combines the serpentine slinkiness of a nightclub lounge lizard, seeking sex, with polished Poirot-esque observation-deduction, detective skills. As Sherlock Holmes has Dr. Watson, the Falcon's sidekick stars Allen Jenkins, as "Goldy," as in Goldilocks, to punctuate many scenes with witty punchlines. Unexpectedly good fun, exceeds expectations.
Name of review should be shame on you bill, is not the place for your ignorant rant. It is a great movie to view and relax and take away the hate in the world even here at TCM. I enjoyed George Sanders in both series The Falcon and The Saint nothing cerebral but as said before relaxing, so I can forget there are still so many bills in the world
What about a gay rant was warranted?Gay characters and actors suffered ridicule by others who were no better or different, esp since they used the gays to their own advantage. The Laws needed to be changed, butthe attitudes still prevail when those who cite their Christian beliefs discriminate against anyone born equally in this country.Remember that when spouting racism, gay discrimination exists, too!
The bastardization of the lanhuage by homosexuals
The homosexual crowd wanted to make their abnormal and aberrant behavior more palatable to others by self-describing themselves as gay. There is nothing gay about male homosexuals and nothing to be privileged. It is sick behavior now promoted by pseudo intellectual types; as demonstrated by Maltin.
The Great Gladys
- Mike McCrann
This B movie film is totally worth seeing just to watch Gladys Cooper in a rare glamorous performance. Cooper who would be so memorable in Now Voyager as Bette's evil mother is chic and wonderfully nefarious in this so so entry into The Falcon Series. Gladys Cooper made every film performance memorable and fans should not miss this chance to see her all dolled up!
The Gay Falcon
A very enjoyable Saturday morning film. Nothing too heavy to bog down the weekend.
