Funny movie worth seeing
- Dereuff
- 4/9/12
This is a funny spoof of all kinds of movie cliches and stereotypes. It does bog down a bit in places. but in general has a lot of zip and silliness that is fun to watch. A huge plus for me is Harold Huber as Leo Carillo's droll, deadpan sidekick (I wish TCM would devote a day to his films!) and there's Nino Martini taking a "break" from the Met, and those cuties singing in the radio station.... Don't expect highbrow entertainment, just a lot of fun!

Much funnier than I expected
- Gretchen
- 10/7/11
This comedy has a much more modern feel than you would expect of a 1936 film. It is very silly, similar to a Martin Short, or other SNL character comedy. As a bonus, the singer has an outstanding voice.
