The Gamma People (1956)
- Mr. Blandings

This movie's like a so-so episode of the Outer Limits or Twilight Zone. It's sort of "The Village of the Damned" meets "The Sound of Music" meets "Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang". While there's good chemistry and some witty repartee between Paul Douglas and Leslie Phillips (whose voice is now famous as that of the Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter movies), the film is ultimately your standard, garden variety, B-grade scifi/horror/comedy filler. **

Strange Happenings(1956)

A train car gets sidetracked and it is carrying two scientists who stumble onto some strange people, The "Gamma People." Who are they , why are they ? Strange sci-fi thriller that has some merit but never really delivers the goods. Paul Douglas stars. 3 stars out of 5.

Cheesy, poorly lit, rambling mess...I loved it!

The reason for my fan review is simply to cast my guess for the film's location(s.) I believe it's set in the Salzkammergut region of Austria. My wife and I visited there and when I saw the film, I was struck by the scenes which looked just like the towns in that lake region made (more) famous by "The Sound of Music." Much of the film's shots look like the towns around Salzburg, in particular Hallstatt and Bad Goisern.

Is the town Solvang CA?

Haven't seen the movie yet but it sounds like Solvang CA, where William Castle shot Homicidal.

Just finished watching the movie. It strikes me as odd that the little town it was filmed in had the look of an Alpine town in Bavaria.Yet it was supposed to be in am east block country...Yes I know it's fictional ...However I would be so verry interrested in knowing what the name of the town is and where it is located????? If anybody would be able to answer that i would be thank full.... A good 2 hour's of entertainment for a rainy saturday or sunday afternoon... enjoy.....
