This is one of my favorite movies, you don't get to see Kirk Douglas in to many comedies. The is one of his best, has a great cast. Wish TCM would show this movie, have not seen it in years and can't find it on DVD. Would like to see it one more time before I leave this earth. TCM is the only channel that shows good old movies, so if you don't show it I may never see it again. So please show this movie soon.Another movie I would love to see is a Sandra Dee movie I'd rather be rich. This is also a great comedy, that nobody show anymore. This also has great cast to don't see too often, Andy William and Robert Goulet . Please try to show this one also, when you show Sandra Dee movies.

I love this movie. Wonderful cast. Kirk Douglas does a great job in the Rock Hudson - James Garner type role. The only time I remember him doing comedy was in a black-and-white 50's service comedy with Susan Hayward. (Now there's an impediment to comedy.) Here he does really well paired with Mitzi Gaynor, no slouch in the comedy department. Thelma Ritter steals the show as the matriarch, and her scenes with William Bendix as her private detective have that comic sparkle of two old pros at the top of their game. Thelma gets to be glam too, which she was totally able to pull off. Julie Newmar(!) and Leslie Parrish add a lot of good energy. Gig Young is just sorta Gig Young, but that's OK. Mitzi is a brainy motivational researcher (It could happen.), so there's actually some cute social commentary mixed in. Predictable shenanngans throughout, but so do most of the romantic comedies of that era. I say it stands up well and is very worth watching.

This movie has some of the finest actors and actresses ever on screen. It is entertaining and wholesome. It would be a shame for this movie and many of its kind to be allowed to be forgotten.
