I'm tired of TCM reviewers giving a "pass" to Roger Corman's crappy, early efforts (like this one and "Bucket Of Blood") on the spurious grounds of low budget. As Welles in "Touch Of Evil" and Cassavetes in "Shadows" showed us lack of money does not inevitably have to excuse lack of ability.
Frank and Connie - and Racing Cars, Too!

For an early effort - and little money, too - Roger Corman has nothing to be ashamed of. But both stars - John Ireland and Dorothy Malone - do help to raise the material several noticeable notches.

For a movie with this title it sure is slow paced. Even the car races are on the torpid side. Give it a D plus for general ennui and wasting the talent of two gifted actors; John Ireland and Dorothy Malone. P.S. Is Bruno Va Sota a William Conrad lookalike or what?
good movie i love it
If You Want A Decent Story
Don't care what others say, this is better than today's crumby Fast & Furious.Decent acting and Directing. So it won't win any awards, but it deserves some respect. To heck with all the CGI.I want TCM for MY MOVIE viewing!
Set Your Expectations Low and Have a Few Drinks
- Joe Francis
If you have finished all of your laundry, paid all of your bills, completed all of your food shopping, changed your engine and have NOTHING better to watch...then, by all means, watch this movie! Oh, and make sure you have a few stiff drinks to help wash it down.YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT!Here is my very brief critique:I've seen better acting, writing and direction in junior high school plays! How they ever raised the money to shoot this picture I will never know. This movie is so bad, it is almost worthy of cult status like "Plan 9 from Outer Space".That's all I can say...
