    A rousing & enthralling WWII film. An unconventional Major trains a group of military criminals for a suicide mission. Excellent performances from the male-oriented ensemble, Cassavettes was the only performer nominated for an Oscar. Great story, begins with intense training scenes before the main mission, the greatest asset to the story is that the criminals do acts worse than for which they were convicted. An amazing, thrilling film overall. I give it a 5/5.

    Great war movie with a great cast of actors. Watched this movie every time I see it scheduled. Sigh, if only the Army really ran a war like that.
