Six people are in on a gold robbery. Three of them double-cross the others. Mountie Renfrew has to go after them alone when his partner Kelly is wounded.

Sgt. Renfrew and Corp. Kelly of the North West Mounted Police are on their way to their post when the steamer on which they are sailing is held up. Imprisoned in the ship's hold, the Mounties are helpless to stop the robbery of a gold shipment destined for the Herrington Mining Company. Suspected of the robbery is steam ship passenger Ann Chambers, who has accused Herrington of stealing her father's gold mine. In reality, Ann and her brother Fred had planned the robbery, but were double-crossed by McClusky and his men, who steal away with the gold. Renfrew and Kelly pursue McClusky into the mountains, but Kelly is shot in a gunfight, and they return to town. Renfrew then arrests Ann for the robbery but, sympathetic to her story about her father's mine, sets a trap for Herrington. The trap works and Renfrew catches Herrington with Chambers' deed to the mine and arrests him for Chambers' murder. Although Herrington and his men escape and ride after McClusky, all ends happily as Renfrew captures Herrington and rounds up McClusky and his gang. The Chambers children are then awarded their father's gold mine.
