Martha Eagerth is a Concert singer. She's going to Austria to search for her father, who had abandoned her and her mother, who was also a concert singer , long ago. She meets boarder guard ,played by johannes Heesters, who tours her the place and sings a duet along the way.Her teacher ,played by Alfred Abel, encourages her career and reminds her of her mothers career which goes in a flash back where now Martha is playing her mother ,in which Martha is singing her concert signature aria. There is mishap where the court actually thinks she's the hired singe for the concert. When she finds out this she laughs and tell everyone she's not the singer being hired. But the real singer get's larengitis. So they hire her and she finally finds her father after the concert, Martha and Johanne sing a duet as they waltz in the end of the film.
