A few days before his wedding, Henri, without telling his fiancée, joins a group of friends for a weekend trip to London for the championship Anglo-French rugby match. When an overenthusiastic spectator knocks out Henri's two front teeth, he frantically searches for a dentist, an almost impossible task on a Sunday in London. After his teeth have been repaired, Henri is cautioned by the dentist not to open his mouth under any circumstances until the final touches are applied to his capped teeth. Bored with waiting, he slips on the jacket and helmet of a British bobby while the patrolman is in the dentist's chair. Wearing the uniform, he frightens off a mugger molesting film star Diana Dors and is hailed as a hero. Unable to open his mouth to explain, Henri races from the scene, whereupon Miss Dors and her press agent, hoping to use the incident for publicity, take pursuit. Meanwhile, Henri's future sister-in-law and her pompous husband, who spotted Henri at the rugby game, are also searching for him, as are his chums from Paris. And finally the police join in when they learn an imposter in a bobby's uniform is on the loose. After a series of adventures, Henri returns to the dentist's office and from there to the airport to catch a plane for Paris. But Henri tries on a pilot's cap and jacket in the airport and is whisked off by the crew.
