Like a five course meal, this film has it all ! Warner Oland was/is the Quintessential Charlie Chan, Hawaiin Detective Extraordinaire ! Set in the confines of Egypt, Oland finds a body hidden in a sarcophagus, and not a mummy. As the plot evolves hidden treasure and motives litter the pathway. Atmospheric and well paced .Louis King does a fine directing job. Warner Olands' acting cannot be overstated as he is in complete command. Totally disarming and extremely palatable, Oland charms the pants off of the bad guys and wins the day. Stepin Fetchit plays the comic relief. 5 stars out of 5, doesn't get better than this. Stay to the end,"The End."

I really enjoy to warch the older movies on tcm, and the reacon is that i like the older version of some of the movie and I also like to satch the charlie chan movies because some of them are funny to warch. I would like to make a suggestion, I would like to see more movies about ancient history or the bible, or movies about ancient Rome, Greece, or Egypt please. They are also some of my favorites, beside the oldhorror movies.

Warner Oland does such a terrific job as Charlie Chan in this film entry in the series, it's one of the earlier episodes and it's a good one. Good supporting cast, excellent mystery. It's pretty clear from the title what the plot is about, Charlie is investigating Egyptian relic theft.
