Although some reviews refer to Noah Beery, Jr.'s character as "Flash," within the film he is called "Pidge Lorry," which was also the name of the character Beery played in the early 1940s Hal Roach comedy series, "Jim and Pidge." Those films, however, are unrelated to The Cat Creeps. In 1930 Universal released another film entitled The Cat Creeps, which was based on the 1922 John Willard play The Cat and the Canary and has no relation to the 1946 film.
