Modern-update of the famous character in which he is a NATO officer who can only make love in dangerous situations.

Maj. Andrea Rossi-Colombetti, an Italian officer attached to the NATO headquarters in Naples, consults a psychiatrist because of a unique problem: he is so handsome and women are so liberated that there is no longer any challenge in the art of seduction. The loss of the elements of danger and suspense has rendered the major impotent. The psychiatrist, who harbors unusual sexual preferences himself, advises Andrea to concentrate on platonic relationships. The major goes for a skiing vacation in the Swiss Alps, and there he meets and becomes engaged to the virginal Gigliola. The engagement does not solve his problem, however, and he is unable to resist such temptations as kissing a woman lion tamer in a cage full of lions; posing as a doctor to seduce a peasant girl in Sicily; and pursuing a prostitute reputed to possess evil powers. The climax of his adventures comes in the seduction of the wife of a jealous count. The old count, who pretends to be deaf, overhears their plans and plots to murder the major but accidentally kills himself. The major is brought to trial for murder, but he is finally acquitted when his problem is explained and the count's feigned deafness is discovered. Andrea and Gigliola are then married, and the major satsifies his quest for danger by walking on a ledge six floors above the ground to reach his wife's bedroom.
