    Average entry in the Philo Vance series, James Stevenson is Philo in this one. Good supporting cast, Henry O'Neill, Edward Brophy and Jimmy Conlin stand out. Short, well paced. Good score.

    James Stephenson, probably best known for his role in The Letter does a pretty good job here as Philo Vance. It is a shame that he died before he became a bigger and better known star.
