a slight blooper in this otherwise excellent, beautiful film: on colonel hassel's estate there is a large, lovely statue of st. therese of liseux featured in the backround... a nun in a carmelite habit holding the crucifix and flowers/roses is ALWAYS therese in catholic iconography.... however, the REAL st. therese was ALIVE (in france) around the time period of the film (the mid-late 19th century) , died in 1897, became well known for her writings after her death, in the early 1900's, and was canonized (proclaimed a saint) by the catholic church in statues would have been made in her honor until AFTER 1925!!
