"Houston we have a problem".....The events of Apollo 13 of 1970, a year after Apollo 11 landed on the moon, have been well recreated in the film "Apollo 13" by director Ron Howard. This was a mission to the moon but they didn't get there. Tom Hanks as Jim Lovell, Bill Paxton as Fred Haise, and kevin Bacon as Jack Swigert are the three astronauts with the problem of getting back to Earth after an oxygen tank blows up and a crisis occurs with maybe their lives in danger. They start to slowly run out of fuel and oxygen and can the ground team led by Ed Harris as Flight Director Gene kranz get them safely back. NASA was able to prevent a disaster in helping the team back from their ordeal. This is one of the better space films in the telling of a true story with emphasis not only on the astronauts but also their wives. A technical marvel filled with tense moments "Apollo 13" ranks with the best of the space films.
