Is She or Isn't She

A very good movie with fine performances, cinematography and music score. Ingrid Beman gives an Oscar-deserving performance as the title character who may or may not be a Russian princess, but it is Helen Hayes who steals the movie as the princess' grandmother. Yul Brynner and the rest of the cast are good also, especially Marita Hunt as a wacky Baroness. The movie maintains a strong pace until the very end when we are left without a resolution whether or not Anastasia was actually a Russian princess.

A fictionalized story about a woman who may be the Czar's deceased daughter. With Bergman's second Oscar- winning performance, she won back American audiences for this spellbinding performance. More of a fairy tale than accurate story from real- life events, which put me off. Still, it's an excellent vehicle for Bergman. I give it a 3/5.

I enjoyed this movie immensely. I'm a sucker for a good love story and Yul Brenner and Ingrid Bergman were perfect in their roles. The story, setting and the suspense was great!

This is one of those highly regarded classics that I just don't understand what all the fuss is about. It's a god film, but I don't see anything extraordinary about it. Ingrid Bergman is fine, but winning an Oscar? I get a little bored with the subject of the film. Good production.
