In the foothills of Southern California, "Cool Chick," a young black woman, runs from two pursuing white men, then collapses, exhausted, on the ground. Soon the men are upon Cool Chick, uttering racist remarks and threatening her with a knife. Although Cool Chick manages to whip out her own knife and slash one of her attackers, the men overpower her and begin to tear off her clothes. Meanwhile, a film crew working in the area wraps up shooting of a low-budget World War II movie. Afterward, Turk, the movie's star, flirts with Donna, a young woman who has been observing the shoot, but she rejects his advances. Turk's aggressive flirtation is interrupted by the sudden appearance of tough biker Speed. Speed jumps Turk, and the two men fight. Cool Chick, meanwhile, is saved from rape by the arrival of friend Margo and her band of "biker chicks." Together the women attack the two rapists, beating and whipping them into unconsciousness. Back at the ranch, Turk and Speed continue to spar with each other until Turk takes off on his motorcycle. Speed gives chase on his own motorcycle but eventually ends the pursuit with a friendly wave. Speed then drives Donna to the beach, where their romantic stroll is disrupted by Weasel, a rival biker, who accuses Speed of trespassing on his gang's territory. During the ensuing fight, Speed knocks out two of Weasel's bikers, impressing Weasel with his toughness. After Weasel concedes Speed's superior strength, Speed invites his rivals to join forces with his band of bikers. Speed then leads his new friends to the campsite where his gang, including Margo, Donna and the other biker women, are staying. Later, Speed announces that the men are attending a motorcycle rally, away from the distractions of women. After the men leave for a weekend of racing, drinking, marijuana smoking and brawling, the women take off on their own motorcycles. Along the way, they seduce an innocent farm hand and encounter two sheriff's deputies, who stop to question gang member Terry, whose bike has broken down. After the deputies handcuff the flippant Terry to their car's steering wheel, scantily clad Margo distracts the men long enough for her cohorts to remove the steering wheel. The women then flee on their bikes and find refuge at the Spawn Movie Ranch, which is being used as a cult commune. There, a man named Slim helps free Terry from the steering wheel and introduces all of the women to King, the cult's leader. The charismatic King invites the women to stay, and later, brings the drug-addicted Terry to his rooms in the ranch's main house. King seduces Terry, who has been abusing drugs in order to forget painful memories of her murdered sister. Later, Turk shows up at the ranch and strikes up a conversation with Margo. With surprising tenderness, Margo talks about her difficult childhood and her desire for love and acceptance. Turk reveals that he, too, is searching for someone to ease his loneliness. Speed, meanwhile, is consumed by thoughts of Donna, even as his friends drink and fight around him. The next morning, Margo and Donna find Terry in King's room, unconscious from an apparent drug overdose. Worried that the women will bring the authorities to the ranch, where they grow marijuana, King and Slim lock Margo and Donna in the house. That night, Slim murders ranch hand Parker, who earlier had demanded money to remain quiet about the marijuana. After Donna escapes from the house, intending to bring help, Margo discovers that Terry has died. In a wooded area, Donna spies King and Slim burying Parker and overhears them discussing plans to kill her and her friends. Meanwhile, Cool Chick, whose motorcycle has broken down on the highway, steals a truck from its lecherous driver and heads for the ranch. As soon as the truck pulls up, Margo jumps in and races to get help. Unaware of Margo's escape, King, who has knocked out Turk, injects Donna, whom they have captured, with a drug that renders her unconscious. Later, as other members of his cult stand over her, King stabs Donna to death with a dagger. Called to action, Speed and his gang roar up to the ranch on their motorcycles and a fierce fight ensues. Speed frees the bound Turk, then discovers Donna's body. Jumping on his motorcycle, Turk chases King and Slim as they flee in their stationwagon, and Slim tries unsuccessfully to shoot Turk from the moving vehicle. After revealing to Margo that Turk is his brother, Speed rides off to help him. Speed outmaneuvers King and Slim, causing them to crash in a fiery ball. While haunted by memories of his lost love Donna, Speed continues down the highway, leading Turk and his gang on their motorcycles.
