This film is comprised of footage shot in 1943, and portions of the following 1937 films: Slaves in Bondage (also known as Crusade Against Rackets), and Gambling with Souls. Both 1937 films were produced by Jay Dee Kay Productions, which was owned by J. D. Kendis, and directed by Elmer Clifton (see AFI Catalog of Feature Films, 1931-40; F3.4137 and F3.1531). Although Wheeler Oakman's character is called "Jim Murray" in Teen Age and in Slaves in Bondage, he played a character named "Lucky Wilder" in Gambling with Souls.
In addition, although "Molly Murdock" is supposed to be the same character as "Belle Harris" in in Teen Age, "Belle," originally seen in Slaves in Bondage, is played by Florence Dudley, while "Molly," a completely different character from Gambling with Souls, is performed by Vera Steadman. Other actors whose appearances in the 1937 films were included in Teen Age are: John Merton, Richard Cramer, Matty Roubert and Suzanna Kim from Slaves in Bondage; and Martha Chapin, Bryant Washburn and Gay Sheridan from Gambling with Souls. According to information found at the National Archive, this film was disapproved for export due to the general "lawlessness" depicted in the film. The film was re-issed in 1959 under the title Teenage Jungle
