Mrs. Jackson endures the cruelty of her husband Henry for the sake of her son Billy. Mr. Jackson is so unfeeling that he insists upon his wife inviting his mistress, Mrs. Lenning, to visit them at their Florida home. Although Mr. Jackson desires a divorce, he will not consider it without the custody of his son. While in Florida, Mrs. Jackson meets Richard Darcier, who sympathizes with her plight. Mr. Jackson seizes upon their friendship to frame his wife in a compromising situation with Darcier and then sues for divorce, winning custody of his son. Meanwhile, Darcier's caretaker Jake, an African-American voodoo worshipper, has been warned by a voodoo priestess that he must provide their group with a victim or die himself. Crazed by the threat, he kidnaps Billy and offers the boy's life as a sacrifice. Mrs. Jackson finds the sacrificial cave and offers her life in exchange for that of her son's. At that moment, Mr. Jackson arrives with a rescue party, saves both their lives and, realizing the strength of his ex-wife's mother love, restores her son to her. Mrs. Jackson then marries Darcier and the reconstituted family begins life anew.
