Wealthy Peter Bemis insists that his nephew, Robert Bemis, break into high society. Robert makes a manful try but only succeeds in falling in love with Mitzi Callahan, a beautiful and goodhearted chorus girl. Robert then buys an old racehorse from Mitzi's father and later thrashes a man who makes improper advances to the girl. Robert is arrested on the false charge of giving a bad check, and the horse, entered in the big race, loses badly. Peter is cleared of the suspicion of guilt, and he and Mitzi are wed with his uncle's blessing.
