Young cowpuncher Johnny Brant is sending money home to his mother but is thought to be a miser by the ranch foreman, who abuses Brant, giving him all the worst jobs. Brant is in love with the rancher's daughter, Ruth, who is being courted by the foreman. When Brant is framed for the rancher's murder, the foreman sends for Brant's mother and forces her to give up her money to save Brant, but Brant discovers that the foreman is the real culprit.
