When down-on-his-luck race car driver Billy Brice rescues Edith Rhoades from a dispute with her chauffeur, Edith offers him the job. Edith's father, head of the Rhoades auto company, is upset when he learns that Billy has been disqualified from racing for allegedly accepting a bribe, but he accedes to his daughter's wishes. After Johnson, the Rhoades's race driver, is injured in an accident and Billy foils a subsequent attempt to sabotage the car, Rhoades begins to revise his opinion of the young man. When Emma, Edith's older sister, finally confesses that Billy had suffered the phony bribery charge in order to protect her husband, he is exonerated. Billy then enters the race wearing the Rhoades's colors, winning both the contest and Edith's love.
