John Morton sends his nephew, college athlete Jimmy Brent, to Wyoming with a promise of $50,000 if he will find and administer a beating to Bob Phillips, Morton's onetime rival for the hand of Mary Allen. Jimmy finds Phillips, but he hesitates to go through with his "job" when he falls in love with the rancher's daughter, Gloria. His way to happiness is blocked, however, by ranch hand Smokey Evans, who causes Phillips to suspect Jimmy of rustling. As a result, Jimmy does get in a fight with Phillips, rounds up Evans and his fellow rustlers, and wins Gloria.
