Disagree that Baz was bad here.Kind of minor vehicle, but good enough. He was not bad in this,Roland Young great, glad he was good guy, wondered about him until the end.

Early Rathbone talkie
- ellis
- 7/25/12
Not a bad entry in the "intellectual sleuth" genre, but doesn't come close to the Sherlock Homes stories. Too much talking, not enough action. Rathbone rather wooden in this - he was much better a few years later as the evil Guy of Gisborne in The Adventures of Robin Hood. The best actor in this was Roland Young!

acting awful

the acting in this movie is awful. I can't believe that Basil Rathbone was so bad. I think one of the reasons is because it is so old. Mr. Rathbone would say a word then pause between the next one & then the next.
