Pure fiction with copious errors and slouchy production. Pony Express, 1860-61, employing center fire metal cartridges(1870's) in 1892 model Winchesters, 1872 Colt SA revolvers, except for Ms Russell who has modern chrome finished DA revolver (circa 1890), and making fantastic shots; did you see the shooter, using a 44 Colt, drop an indian brave on top of the ridge? Oh, wait, he was shooting from a pigeon hole with an impossible angle to the top of the ridge. Beyond the errors, faux pas blunders, and horrible technicalities, it was entertaining. Southern Utah scenes were the usual spectacular kind; Johnson Canyon, east of Kanab, Utah, now part of Clinton's folly, "The Grand Stair Case" National Monument, and the acting was as good as one could expect from this fictional story (Cody was 15 when he joined the Pony Express). The story was too far fetched to really be enjoyed, however.

  • Postman Chuck delivers some lively action

PONY EXPRESS is great fun!Heston and Forrest Tucker are a great double act; there is a lively fight to the death between Heston and a Native American Indian, plenty of action and some great scenery and music.

this movie is a great picture because its a true portait of american history. The movie has a great story line and Charlton Heston performed wounderful. Although I haven't seen this picture in years I hope some day I'll be able to add this great picture to my collection of great movies.
