Not enough like Susan anymore
- Kimberly

While Say Goodbye, Maggie Cole is not my favorite Susan Hayward film, it was still expertly acted by susan even as she suffered the terrible effects of brain cancer. What a woman. What a great, beautiful, talented, wonderful woman. Susan Hayward gave us a tough, gritty realism that in my opinion is not seen anymore in film actresses. The very best actors and actresses are nearly all gone...don't get me wrong, there are still some out there but they're fading fast.

SAY GOODBYE, SUSAN HAYWARD
- Boo
- 3/9/09
The legendary Hayward returned to Tinseltown in 1972 and made two highly rated "made for TV" films, THE HEAT OF ANGER and SAY GOODBYE MAGGIE COLE. She was brilliant in both. The final showed a touching pathos and vulnerability, the Susan fan rarely sees on screen. She looked gorgeous, despite the fact she had brain cancer. In some of the scenes, you could see it in her eyes. One of the most poignant scenes is between her and Jeannette Nolan's confession. Nolan's short screen time, is unforgettable. But this is a tailor-made Susan Hayward flick and a fitting tribute to the glorious redhead who had not only beauty, but talent. She contributed some of the most vivid portrayals on celluloid.
