  Loved how the city became a partner in the movie. And, dang, Gena Rowlands is one hot looking woman for 50! Ah! I think she still is!

  I must admist I am biased, Before Gloria- if you asked me to name my favourite Cassavetes' endeavor my answer would be "all of them" with the same response to my favourite Rowlands' performance under his direction. I normally don't pay attention to child actors, but little Phil broke my heart - and like Gloria, I am a cat owner who is not particuarly crazy about kids. Rowland weaves an exquisite tapestry of beauty, strength and vulnerability into a performance that should have garnered more than Academy Award and Golden Globe Nominations. I can't recall how many times I have seen "Gloria", I never grow tired of this masterpce. While I am usually very stingy with my tears, Kleenix owes this one big time for my patronage - Marnie Howell

  Gena Rowlands is wonderful in this movie. I can watch this movie over and over again. Thank you TCM for showing this classic.

  I like it a lot .better than the 1999 one i have been trying to find so i could buy it now i can and which it all the time
