  • My favorite movie

I don't understand why more people do not know about this wonderful movie. It is rarely on TV and often not even mentioned with Gary Cooper movies. Gary and Paula G. are so good and the supporting cast could not be better. The story is great; the characters so likeable -- never slow, never anything boring and some of the most exciting scenes ever....the water fall stunt is my favorite in all movies. I wish that more people could see it and appreciate it. I bought several dvds after the vcr copy was no longer a good idea. I watch many movies and generally prefer older movies so I know many exceptional offerings and this is up there with the very good ones. It was difficult to find a copy for many years. I have been around since before TV. I saw weekly offerings at movie theaters when I was younger and am open to all but slash and gore or nonsense extreme horror -- Love the original so called horror movies from 30s and 40s. Enjoy the stories so well covered in minimal time but also appreciate the well done, two-hour plus, colored movies. So, I know movies and this is a very special film, story, scenery and actors. He became my favorite actor after I first saw this and enjoyed most of what he did afterwards. I had a new appreciation for Paula Goddard. Ward Bond became my favorite character actor. And the bad guys, the Indians, great acting. Everyone was so well chosen for their parts. Try to see this mover, better yet, buy a copy.

Este filme excelente. Uns dos melhores filmes do diretor Cecil B. De Mille. Um grande clssico que eu gostaria muito de assistir. uma preciosidade este filme. Um filme interessante e espetacular.

This movie is a sprawling, though not completely historically accurate tale, that keeps the viewer's interest from beginning to end. The beautiful cinematography more than makes up for it's shortcomings, such as Boris Karlof as a rampaging indian chief. Very watchable and very enjoyable with Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard both giving wonderful performances. Some of the scenes look as though they are museum paintings brought to life. Many thumbs up!

This was a great movie. Though it is over 2 hours long, it keeps your interest. There is a lot of adventure in it. It is my all-time favorite movie.
