- Richard Felton
Best firefighting movie I have seen. Very well done scenes , responding and fighting fires. This was firefighting in its hayday, when firefighters went to multiple fires in one shift. Many firehouses in Boston still look like Engine 27 today.
Remake of a Jimmy Cagney, pat O'Brien Movie
- Tom Gray
This is a remake of the 1934 movie "Here Comes The Nay" with Jimmy Cagney and Pat O'Brien. The movies share the same plot structure and most of the same scenes. The plot was shifted from the navy to the fire department.
An Awesome Historic Firefighting Picture
- Chief Harry Cohoon
2/16I saw this great movie about 12 years ago and have found actual lobby cards that hung in a presenting theater. The movie not only does a Hollywood story but is chocked full of historic fire apparatus and a view of real life in the fire service as well as the general society for 1937. This is an awesome look at the Los Angles Fire Department and the famous Hollywood Engine House 27, which is now a museum as new quarters were constructed next door following the earthquake in 1994.As a Firefighter and Fire Service historian, I'd love to have a DVD of this show!
