Having been to Honolulu recently, the beauty and quaintness of the shoreline and the people along Waikiki in 1935 was lovely to see, and in contrast to the hotel-saturated region of today. I am grateful that TCM helped preserve this piece of history for future generations and enjoyed the oppotunity to see how it looked before WW2.

As I viewed the film, it was like going back in history, and into a world that people only heard of at that time. It was before my time, but a beautiful and calm period. It was a time that was previous to the Second World War. I was very impressed with the travel film, as I am with most of the travel films that are used as fillers between movies on TCM. In fact, that is the reason I finally took the time today, to look for TCM on the internet, to see if the Travel Talks were available to purchase. I just assumed, years ago, when I first started paying attention to the the Travel Talks, that they would be included as part of the TCM film library. I am sorry to find out that they aren't available. The Hawaiian travel film is one of the best of that series that I have seen.
