the little princess
reply to El Debbo They are Not gone. As long as there are people like you. Just turn on the T.V. or go to a film revival. and there they are, Forever. Shirley Temple, one of the Greatest Entertainers of the twentieth century and beyond. Not to be a downer, rather a word to the wise. Some years ago, I had the chance to meet her in Toronto, at a book signing and like a damn fool, turned the opportunity of a lifetime down. It was not a large turn out, but it gave her fans who did show up, a chance to sit and relax and talk and enjoy her company. I also passed on Mamma Cass when she was in the hospital in Toronto. My point is, Don't let the chances pass You by.
A Benevolent Princess

Where have all these faces gone? You never see anyone who looks remotely like Richard Greene anymore, nor like Mary Nash nor Arthur Treacher. I miss them all. This is a lovely movie, one of Shirley Temple's best, I believe. It's just as wonderful to watch it tonight as it was when I last saw it, 55 years ago, on a snowy Saturday afternoon while my parents read the paper in the living room and I sat on the carpet seeing The Little Princess for the first time on TV.Thank you, TCM, for helping me to relive that blessed time.
Black and White vs Digitalized Colour

Black and White is much preferred by me. Recon, I'm just an old fashioned gal. Has Shirley Temple ever made a bad film? What a talent she had from the get-go! Anything Ian Hunter does is great by me, even if at some point he had done something second rate.
Este filme um dos melhores que Shirley fez. um filme emocionante e adorvel. Deveria ser exibido sempre pelo TCM, pois o filme maravilhoso.
