i felt sally field took every opportunity to portrayed barbara stanwyck as a miserable, controlling, unattractive recluse. i never got that impression from her or others who worked with her. i watched fire and desire and could not believe the negative tone and light in which sally field put one of the all time greatest actesses in. my thoughts on sally field is, she should be fired and i desire someone who is able to talk about barbara in a more positive, respectful and fair light. and NO i do not love you this time sally.!!! TMC please do another documentary on ms. stanwyck.. maybe miss evans is available. thank you

the documentary "Fire and Desire" is a comprehensive review of the spectacular acting career of one of the greats of the silver screen. Although I am not the biggest Sally Fields fan, I have to give her props for the way she dramatized Barbara's words and actions. I thought the documentary was extraordinarily well researched, and the montages of screams was perfection. I only hope this piece is released on dvd in the near future as i would not only love to view it again, but would love to share it with my friends who share my love of tcm and acting. michael w.
