Great Rides
- roger steinbrink

I love Jack Lemmon, but my main interest in some movies are "the rides, Clyde".I was wondering about the car that Jack drove during the picnic scene. Anubody know?I also love the VW bus in the closing scene. That particular one with all the windows in the roof is very valuable today due to it's scarcity.Great Rides....

One of Lemmon's Best Comedies
- Bruce Reber

"Under The Yum Yum Tree" (1963), based on the Broadway hit, is one of the best comedies ever, and certainly one of Jack Lemmon's best films. The role of landlord Hogan with the overactive libido was a change of pace for Lemmon, coming just one year after his Oscar-nominated performance in "The Days of Wine and Roses", a powerful drama about a young couple's battle against alcoholism. He followed up "Yum Yum Tree" with two more terrific comedies, "Irma La Douce" with Shirley MacLaine and "Good Neighbor Sam". Lemmon was equally outstanding in both dramas and comedies. The rest of the cast of "Yum Yum Tree" is excellent - Edie Adams, Carol Lynley, Dean Jones, Paul Lynde and Imogene Coca also give great performances. I liked Hogan's "bachelor pad", including what appears to be a 60's style hi-fi, but when Hogan flips a switch the lid opens up and two violins begin playing by themselves, instead of the music coming from an LP record. I liked that cool custom car with the gull-wing doors too.

60's Bedroom Comedy

Made at the time of the popular 60's Bedroom Comedies, this film reigns as King of them, great story, fantastic cast. Even a great 60's theme song sung by James Darren, not to missed if you like films of this time.

I loved all of Jack Lemmons movies and have most of them on dvd all accept Under the yum yum tree and Good neighbor Sam they were so funny. I believe most his movies made in those times were the better comedies. I would to see these go to dvd as well.

Under the Yum Yum Tree is a wonderful film. I have seen it two or three times and still enjoy watching it. Jack Lemmon does an excellant job. The scenes with the cat are hilarious.
